Shunt Solar controller – Easy to use, light in weight. reliable

The cost-effective 8 A shunt solar controller are ideal for small and medium size solar systems. They recognized self-employed whether a 12 V respectively a 24 V system is connected. The shunt charge controllers are equipped with the essential regulating and protective functions which are required for gentle and safe charging and discharging of lead-acid and lead-gel batteries:

Important characteristics and features

Suitable for 12 V and 24 V solar systems

The solar controller can be used for 12 V as well as for 24 V battery systems. The system adjustment is done automatically.

Deep discharge and overcharge protection

The integrated deep discharge protection automatically switches off the load output as soon as the battery voltage drops below the minimum voltage. When the battery has been recharged and the battery voltage rises above the reset voltage, the solar charge controller automatically reconnects the load output.

Overcharging is prevented thanks to integrated overcharge protection.

Automatic temperature compensation

The built-in temperature sensor ensures that the battery is charged as optimally as possible even when temperatures fluctuate. The end-of-charge and end-of-gassing voltages are dynamically adjusted to the prevailing temperature. At high temperatures, the final voltage is reduced, at low temperatures it is increased.

Gassing control

If a lead-acid battery is operated for a long time without controlled gassing, harmful acid layers can form.

The solar charge controller eliminates or prevents the formation of acid layers by controlled gassing. This behavior is also temperature-dependent and is compensated by the built-in temperature sensor.

LED battery status indicator

The two LEDs provide information about the current state of charge as well as the operating status of the battery.
